    A great way to get in touch with the wonder's of Tulum's natural environment is through a snorkel tour. No training is necessary and it often is a favorite activity for many visitors.

    We drive to "Dos Ojos" & "Casa Cenote" for an unforgettable swimming experience. In Dos Ojos you can swim in clear, cool, fresh water in an inundated cave with underwater passages full of stalagmites and stalactites. The Casa Cenote experience allows you to immerse yourself in a mix of cool fresh and salt water in a mangrove pool connected to the sea by an underground passage. You can play with the currents and the colorful fish that move freely though these rich waters.

    Approximate time: 4 hours

    Price: $60 USD per person

  • MONKEY TRAIL

    Enjoy hiking through the forest to meet one of the penisula's first inhabitants: the howler monkeys. Howler monkeys were considered gods or divine symbols for some Mayas of the Classic Era. These mamelian "gods" are endemic to South and Central America and are famous for their sonorous howls, hence the name "howler monkey". The howls are a significant part of their social conduct and help us find them in the forested jungle canopy in Muyil, part of the Sian Kaán Biosphere Reserve.

  • SEA AND CENOTE SNORKELING ADVENTURE

    Combine Casa Cenote's cool, fresh, mangrove environment with the magnificence of the Caribbean's TanKah Reef in a special snorkeling adventure. We take a boat to the TanKah Reef, part of the Great MesoAmerican Reef that runs the coast of the Mexican Caribbean, where participants can see the myriad, coloful flora and fauna found in this coastal environment. After this experience and a light snack, we cross to Casa Cenote, a mangrove cenote where the salt water meets the fresh and we visually explore the caverns, the gentle roots of the mangrove trees and the fish that live among them.

  • JUNGLE SUNRISE BIRD WATCHING

    Wonder at the sun gently rising over the jungle canopy as the birds that live among the trees waken and start to sing. Let us help you hear, view and photograph some of the 543 species that reside in the Yucatan Peninsula. Belonging to more than 70 families of birds, these species call to each other and to you as we walk through the jungle, climb an observation tower overlooking the Sian Kaán Biosphere and wander among Mayan temples with binoculars in hand.

    Approximate time: 3 – 4 hours.

  • SUNSET KAYAKING

    Watch the birds come home in the oncoming twilight as you float in your kayak on waters that reflect the setting sun. Our tour begins kayaking among mangroves filled with colorful birds as we enter the spaces between the numerous "floating islands" that the mangroves create. As we maneuver around the shallow waters, we come to rest and wait for numerous species of bird to come home to "bird island". Coming home, we swim in the cool fresh waters of Chunyaxché,a cenote close by.

  • MUYIL JUNGLE & MAYAN CANAL

    Muyil and Chunyaxché were ancient Mayan trading center located on the edge of the Sian Ka’an lagoon. We’ll take a walk back through time as we explore Muyil, learning about Mayan culture, History, natural medicine and how it intersects with the lives of Mayans today. Then we’ll explore the wetlands of the lagoon by boat, stopping to take a magical float down a freshwater canal.

    Approximate time: 6 hours

  • REEF SNORKELING

    One of the favorite activities for many visitors is snorkeling. Too, snorkeling is a great way to practice for your first dive. Acuatic Tulum offers different options each day at 9am and 1pm.

    Trip to the Reef by Boat

    We bring you to two different sections of the The Great Meso-American barrier reef where we can snorkel at a depth of one to three meters just off the Tulum beaches. Afterwards, we will take you to view the Tulum Archaeological Zone from the Sea. Each place we bring you has its own charm, from the soft corals that have endured for years to areas with abundant fish and sea life. If you are lucky, you may see turtles, manta rays, and Morey eels.

    Approximate time: 2 hours.

    The Yucatan Peninsula is an amazing location for birdwatching. More than half the migrating species in the northern hemisphere migrate to this area and we routinely have over 543 bird species from 75 families. In this sunrise tour we wanter through the jungle with early morning birdsongs accompanying us as we climb an observation tower overlooking the Sian Ka’an lagoon and wander among the Mayan temples with binoculars in hand.
